For this project, I was hired by a well-known chiropractor’s office to design their monthly wellness newsletter. The client provided a full style tile with brand guidelines—including typography, color palette, logo, and masthead—as well as the article copy and imagery.
My job was to bring all these elements together in a clean, professional one-page layout that not only delivered information but also reflected the brand’s established identity.
I started by setting up the document in Adobe InDesign with the required specs: 8.5" x 11", a three-column grid with a 0.25" gutter, and custom margins to allow the masthead space to breathe at the top. Establishing the grid was essential here—it gave me a solid framework for type alignment and image placement, ensuring everything felt balanced and legible.
From there, I imported the article, Why Chiropractic Care is a Good Choice for Back Pain, and flowed it across the three columns. I formatted the title, subheads, and body copy according to the brand’s typography system—Barlow Condensed in varying weights and sizes for hierarchy.
Careful attention went into kerning, tracking, and leading, which helped maintain readability while also keeping the copy visually consistent with the client’s brand voice.
The masthead and logo were placed prominently at the top, instantly tying the design to the clinic’s identity.
I then integrated the provided imagery with proper text wrapping and spacing so the photo supported the article without overwhelming the page. Finally, I incorporated the brand’s color palette subtly throughout, using it for emphasis in headers and accents to create unity without distracting from the content.
The finished layout is a polished, brand-consistent newsletter that feels professional yet approachable. Every design decision—from grid structure to typographic hierarchy—was made with clarity and brand alignment in mind. The end result is a piece that not only communicates valuable wellness information but also strengthens the chiropractor’s credibility and connection with their audience.
